This listing is for a print of an original oil painting of a still life of a Protea. The Protea is often central in my work. This robust plant is native to South Africa and thrives in Australia.
I feel compelled to paint and draw plants, nature and flowers. I am in awe of the fact that these patterns, colours, cells, tissues, organs, and systems end up together to deliver one of the primary producers in the earth ecosystem with the added benefit of beauty. My studies, drawings and paintings are an intimate connecting between the beauty and strength of nature. Often the subject matter is feminine and tender, which I capture with intense colour and bold marks. I apply paint in broad brush strokes, building texture and layers in my paintings.
Each art print is a high-quality Epson ink jet, using archival ultra-chrome inks, on Ilford Galerie Prestige textured cotton rag, 310 gsm paper.
All art prints are hand-signed and dated by me, the artist, for authenticity.

A4 - 210x297mm or 8.5 x 11 inch
A3 - 297x420mm or 11 x 16 inch
A2 - 420x594mm or 16.5 x 23.4 inch
A white border will be left for framing. This listing is one print, featured in the first photo.
The prints will fit comfortably within a standard frame size of 5x7 inch, 8x10 inch, 11x16 inch or 20x16 inch.
